Dhinidhi Creates History, Khushbu Enters Judo Final at Youth Olympics

Indian swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu scripted history at the 2026 Youth Olympics in Dakar, Senegal, becoming the first Indian female swimmer set to win a medal at the event. The 16-year-old secured bronze in the women’s 100m freestyle with a time of 56.27 seconds, finishing behind Croatia’s Ana Bobanovic (55.89) and New Zealand’s Alyssa Lawson (56.13).
Meanwhile, 15-year-old Khushbu Rajakbhai Darjada stormed into the women’s 63kg judo final after defeating Algeria’s Dounia Berrahoual, assuring India at least a silver medal. She will face Germany’s Cadet World Champion Jolina Reinhold for gold. Khushbu could become India’s first Youth Olympics judo gold medallist. India’s only previous judo medal came through Thangjam Tababi Devi, who won silver in the 44kg category in 2018.
