NEW DELHI,Dec 21: actress Deepika Padukone turns producer for  her next Bollywood project. She will portray the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in a film directed by Meghna Gulzar.

In an interview, the 32-year-old actress explained her decision and said: “When I heard this story, I was deeply moved as it’s not just one of violence but of strength and courage, hope and victory. It made such an impact on me, that personally and creatively, I needed to go beyond and so the decision to turn producer.”

This will be her first movie after marriage and will start shooting in  January 2019
