Cuttack, Kendrapara Shift Schools to Morning Schedule Due to Heat and Humidity

Bhubaneswar: With hot and humid weather persisting across several parts of Odisha, the district administrations of Cuttack and Kendrapara have decided to revise school timings to safeguard students from adverse weather conditions.
As per the new schedule, all government and private schools in Kendrapara will conduct classes from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM, while schools in Cuttack will remain open from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. The revised timings will be effective until June 25.

District authorities have also instructed educational institutions to make adequate arrangements for safe drinking water and Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) to help students stay hydrated and reduce the risk of heat-related ailments.
The move comes amid continued discomfort caused by high temperatures and humidity levels. On Thursday, Cuttack recorded a maximum temperature of 37.4 degrees Celsius, while Kendrapara registered 37 degrees Celsius.
Officials said the temporary change in school hours is aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of students during the prevailing weather conditions.
