CM Majhi Showcases 14-Month Achievements At Rising Odisha Conclave

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday reaffirmed his government’s focus on inclusive growth and women’s empowerment while addressing the Rising Odisha conclave organised by News18.

Highlighting the state’s progress over the past 14 months, Majhi said that more than 17 lakh women have become lakhpatis under empowerment schemes such as Subhadra. Farmers, he noted, have also reaped benefits from an additional ₹800 per quintal of paddy through the Samruddha Kisan Yojana.

The Chief Minister underscored major welfare initiatives, including the rollout of Ayushman Bharat in Odisha, 14 Jan Sunani hearings that resolved over 90% of public grievances, and the implementation of the National Education Policy. He added that new measures like PM SHRI Schools, PM Usha, Sishu Vatika for pre-school children, and Godavaris Mishra Adarsh Primary Schools are strengthening the state’s education system.

Majhi also spotlighted Odisha’s industrial momentum, citing the success of the Utkarsh Odisha–Make in Odisha Conclave and the Odisha Textile Conclave. He reiterated his government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption, noting that 28,000 appointments have already been made, with recruitment processes underway for 85,000 more jobs within the next two years.

“These steps have brought the government closer to the people in just one year,” Majhi said, adding that the focus should now shift to “current excellence” to achieve the larger vision of Samruddha Odisha.

The Chief Minister also praised News18 for its wide network of 20 channels in 16 languages, lauding popular programs like Asal Katha for their engaging coverage of political, cultural, and social issues.
