CM Majhi Reviews Odisha Law & Order, Orders High Alert

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday reviewed the law and order situation in Odisha following the recent violence in Cuttack and the murder of BJP leader Pitabas Panda in Berhampur.
During the review meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan, the Chief Minister directed the police to remain on high alert and monitor anti-social and suspicious elements across the state to prevent any untoward incidents.

“Odisha is known as a peaceful state. But some people are trying to tarnish its image. These forces must be dealt with firmly,” Majhi said while addressing the officials.
He instructed senior police officers to maintain strict surveillance in Cuttack, noting that though the situation has improved, intensive patrolling and stakeholder consultations should continue to ensure lasting peace in the city.
The Chief Minister also expressed grief over the killing of senior BJP leader and lawyer Pitabas Panda in Berhampur on October 6 and directed the police to nab the culprits at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by CM’s Advisor Prakash Mishra, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satyabrata Sahu, DGP YB Khurania, Principal Secretary to CM Saswat Mishra, and other senior police officials.
