Child Dies After Getting Entangled in Makeshift Swing in Mayurbhanj

Baripada: In a tragic incident, a young child lost his life after getting entangled in a makeshift swing at Jagannathi village under Udala police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

The deceased has been identified as Satya Murmu, son of Durga Murmu.

According to reports, the child was playing on a swing made from a saree tied to a tree in the family courtyard. Meanwhile, family members were occupied with household chores, assuming the child was playing safely.

In a tragic turn of events, the saree used for the swing reportedly slipped and tightened around the child’s neck. By the time a family member noticed him hanging, the situation had already turned critical.

The child was immediately rushed to Udala Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The incident has sent shockwaves across the area, with locals expressing deep grief over the unfortunate mishap.
