CADA Engineer Padmalochan Nayak used to travel Srilanka to gamble

Sambalpur: Padmalochan Nayak, the Executive Engineer of the Command Area Development Authority (CADA), Sambalpur Division, who landed in Vigilance net used to travel to Srilanka to gamble.

Following the Vigilance raids conducted at multiple locations linked to Nayak on Tuesday, the investigation pointed towards the possibility of his travel to Sri Lanka with large amounts of money to gamble.

During raid, the officials unearthed, residential triple storeyed building with area 18,840 Sqft. located at Bidyadharpur, Kataka, residential double storeyed building with area approx 1465 Sqft. located at Mukulisi under Basta PS, Dist-Baleshwar, Another building located at Mukulisi under Basta PS, Dist-Baleshwar, 18 valuable plots (5 in Bhubaneswar, 3 in Kataka, 6 in Korei (Jajpur), 3 in Basta (Baleshwar) & 1 in Delanga, Puri). The measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing. They have also recovered cash Rs.3,45,000/- with some foreign currency notes of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bahrain & USA, 2 JCB Machines, 1 TATA Tanker, 1 TAFE Tractor & 1 Trailer, 3 four wheelers (Toyota Innova, TATA Indigo, WagonR) & 1 two wheeler and gold & household articles worth around Rs.20 Lakhs.

Odisha Vigilance team carried out simultaneous raids at seven distinct locations across four districts, including Sambalpur, Cuttack, Balasore, and Malkangiri on Tuesday.

A total of 7 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 4 DSPs, 13 Inspectors, 7 ASIs, and other supporting staff conducted the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
