Bomb Threat Puts Kolkata Airport on High Alert

KOLKATA: Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport was placed under heightened security on Thursday after authorities received an email threatening to blow up the facility.
The message, received at around 2 pm, claimed that explosives had been planted inside the airport premises. Security agencies immediately increased deployment and began extensive checks across the terminal and surrounding areas.
Authorities are verifying the threat and investigating whether the email was genuine or a hoax. Security measures have been tightened as a precaution.
Mamata’s Delhi Flight Delayed

The alert came on a day when West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was scheduled to travel to Delhi from Kolkata.
TMC leader Kunal Ghosh raised concerns over repeated delays to her Air India flight. In a social media post, he questioned whether the delay could affect Banerjee’s scheduled programmes in Delhi and urged the airline to avoid any further delay.
