BJD Chief Naveen Patnaik Undergoes Successful Surgery in Mumbai

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik has undergone successful surgery for cervical arthritis at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. The procedure was performed under the supervision of renowned cardiologist Dr. Ramakant Panda, who is also Patnaik’s personal physician.

According to Dr. Panda, the surgery lasted nearly two hours and was conducted by a team of expert surgeons, with doctors from the Asian Heart Institute also present during the procedure. He confirmed that the veteran politician is “active, conscious, and stable” and is currently under observation. Patnaik is expected to be discharged within the next five to seven days.

Dr. Panda will continue to oversee Patnaik’s post-operative care and recovery process.

The news of the successful surgery prompted an outpouring of support and prayers from BJD leaders, party workers, and well-wishers across Odisha. Special rituals, including ‘Dipa Dana’, were performed at several temples in the state, with supporters praying for Patnaik’s speedy recovery.
