Three Labourers Killed After Motorcycle Plunges Into Gorge in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar: Three labourers lost their lives after the motorcycle they were riding skidded off a hill road and plunged into a deep gorge in the Gorumahisani police station area of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
According to preliminary information, the three men had travelled to Goradapani village on Thursday to install tents for a wedding function. While returning home later that night, they reportedly lost control of their motorcycle on a hill road, causing the vehicle to fall nearly 150 feet into a ditch.

The accident remained unnoticed until Friday afternoon, when local cattle grazers spotted the bodies and informed nearby villagers. Residents rushed to the spot, identified the victims, and alerted the police.
The deceased have been identified as Manaj Mundari (30) and Manaj Mundi (30), both residents of Sanjhari village under Sudarshanpur, and Birsingh Munda (30) of Dudhichua village.
Police reached the accident site in the evening and recovered the bodies later that night. The bodies have been sent to the Rairangpur Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem examination.
A case of accidental death has been registered at Gorumahisani Police Station. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, while the post-mortem is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday.
