Bargarh DEO, BEO Suspended Over Sexual Harassment Allegations
The School and Mass Education Department suspended Bargarh District Education Officer (DEO) Jyotikanta Sahu and Block Education Officer (BEO) Surendra Sahu following allegations of sexual harassment and financial irregularities involving a woman CRCC.
Officials confirmed that the suspension came after a detailed inquiry into the complaint. Earlier, the district administration had already suspended a PET teacher linked to the case. The Collector later recommended departmental action against the DEO and BEO, which the government approved.
The department stated that both officers were found guilty of misconduct, prompting immediate suspension. Authorities emphasised that strict disciplinary measures will continue against officials involved in harassment or corruption.
