Amit Shah Paid a Visit to Mahaprabhu Lingaraja

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): Union Home Minister Amit Shah today paid a visit to Mahaprabhu Sri Lingaraja as per his schedule. Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Pratap Sadangi and Prahlad Singh Patel Accompanying him. BJP state president Sameer Mohanty, Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha MP Aparajita Sadangi, Kalahandi Lok Sabha MP Basant Panda, Leader of the Opposition Pradeep Nayak, BJP national vice-president Baijayant Panda, Rajya Sabha MP Raghunath Mohapatra were also present at the shrine.

Amit spent about 15 minutes in the vicinity of the temple. Special arrangements have been made by the management trust of the Sri Lingaraja Temple for Shah’s visit. When the Union Minister arrived at the temple, Khanduapat was handed over by the temple administration. Shah is said to have worshiped Lord Lingaraj with 108 lotus flowers.

Security has also been beefed up following a visit to the Lingaraj temple by Union Home Minister Shah. About 5 platoons of police are deployed. Under tight security, Shah entered the temple. Fifteen to 20 senior police officers, including the DCP, are also present. CRPF personnel were also reported to be monitoring the security system.
