Panchayat By-Elections on June 23

Bhubaneswar: By-elections for 43 sarpanchs and 272 ward members of 43 panchayats of Odisha will be held on June 23. For this, notices for by-elections in blocks, panchayats and wards will be issued tomorrow at 10 am.

As per a letter issued by the Odisha State Election Commission, the nominations will be filed from 11 am to 3 pm on May 26, 28, 29, 30 and 31. Candidates for sarpanch from block offices and ward members will file their nominations at the panchayat office. After scrutiny of nominations on June 2, the list of eligible candidates will be published.

The time for withdrawal of nominations has been fixed till 3 pm on June 4. After that, the final list of candidates will be published at the panchayat office.

Voting will be held at the polling stations on June 23 from 7 am to 1 pm. The counting of votes will take place at the block offices from 8 am on the 24th. The State Election Commission has issued a notification in this regard.

The model code of conduct issued by the Commission will remain in force in the concerned Constituencies from 20.05.2025 to 24.06.2025.
