Tusker Attack in Khordha: Woman Killed, 1 Hurt

Khordha: In yet another incident of man-tusker conflict, a woman was killed and another person sustained injuries after an elephant attacked them at Panbarj village in the Khordha range this morning.

The deceased woman has been identified as Kiranbala Mandhata. As per reports, Kiranbala was plucking flowers when an elephant attacked her and eventually trampled her to death. Her body has been sent for post-mortem.

Another person was injured in the attack. He has been admitted to a nearby medical center for treatment. On getting the information, the Forest department and police personnel arrived at the spot and drove the elephant away to a nearby forest.
