Pipili-Bypoll: BJP announced Candidate name  For Pipili Bypoll

Bhubaneswar(Reporters Today Bureau): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced the name of its party candidate for the ensuing Pipili bypoll. National General Secretary and In-charge HQ of BJP Arun Singh named Ashrit Pattnayak as the party candidate for the bypoll to Pipili Assembly seat.

The Pipli bypoll is scheduled to be held on April 17. The last date for filing nomination papers is March 30 while the scrutinization of papers will be on March 31. The applicants can withdraw their candidatures by April 3. Both the counting and declaration of results will be made on May 2, 2021.

The necessity of the Pipli bypoll is due to the demise of former BJD leader and seven-time MLA Pradeep Maharathy.

He passed away on October 4 last year while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
