Youth Shot Dead In Bhubaneswar’s Bomikhal On Diwali Eve

Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: A youth was allegedly shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Bomikhal area of Bhubaneswar on Friday night, triggering panic among local residents on the eve of Diwali.

The deceased has been identified as Sonu Nayak, a resident of Haladipadia Basti. According to preliminary information, the assailants opened fire on him, leaving him dead at the spot.

Eyewitnesses suspect that previous enmity may have led to the murder, though the exact motive is yet to be established.

On receiving information, a police team from Laxmisagar police station rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. Police Commissioner and Bhubaneswar DCP also visited the crime scene to review the situation.

The body was sent to Capital Hospital for postmortem examination. Police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the accused. Further details are awaited.
