130 Platoons of Police to Be Deployed for Katak Durga Puja Security

Katak: Odisha Police have stepped up security preparations for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations in Cuttack, with 130 platoons of police personnel and paramilitary forces set to be deployed to ensure peaceful festivities.
Director General of Police (DGP) visited sensitive areas of the city where communal disturbances were reported last year and interacted with local residents to review security arrangements.
Describing last year’s incident as unfortunate, the DGP said the police are fully alert and committed to maintaining law and order during this year’s celebrations.
Around 500 police officers will closely monitor the situation as part of the security arrangements. Authorities have also announced traffic restrictions, with four-wheelers prohibited from entering the city after 4 pm.
The police have intensified preparations to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure that devotees can celebrate Durga Puja peacefully. Security deployment and traffic management measures are aimed at maintaining public safety throughout the festival.
