DDU-GKY 2.0: 34,000 Rural Youth to Get Skill Training

The Ministry of Rural Development will launch training for nearly 34,000 rural youth under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya–Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0 from next month across several States and Union Territories.

In the first phase, the ministry reviewed preparations with 14 States and UTs, including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Overall, more than 3.57 lakh rural youth are targeted to receive training under the programme by December 31 next year.

DDU-GKY is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme that provides placement-linked skill training to poor rural youth. Training programmes range from three to 12 months. The DDU-GKY 2.0 Integrated Portal will support the entire project cycle, enabling greater transparency, efficiency and digital monitoring.
