Odisha Plans 870-Acre Silicon Valley Hub

Odisha has attracted investment proposals worth around ₹23,600 crore with the potential to create 6,100 jobs at Semicon India-2026, as Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled plans for an 870-acre Silicon Valley hub at Naraj near Cuttack.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced plans to develop an 870-acre Odisha Silicon Valley at Naraj near Cuttack, aimed at attracting semiconductor, electronics and IT industries.The announcement was made at Semicon India-2026 in New Delhi, where Odisha received investment proposals worth around ₹23,600 crore, with the potential to create nearly 6,100 jobs.

Majhi said Naraj’s connectivity with the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar corridor, major highways and the ports of Paradip and Dhamra makes it suitable for a semiconductor and logistics hub. The state also signed a Letter of Intent with QuadQuantum for a silicon carbide (SiC) substrate wafer manufacturing facility. Odisha held discussions with companies including Lam Research, Applied Materials, SiCSem, Cyient, Linde and HORIBA India.

The Chief Minister said Odisha’s amended semiconductor policy offers 25% additional fiscal support to ISM-approved projects in equipment manufacturing, semiconductor-grade gases, raw materials and supply-chain segments. Support is also available for skilled manpower, relocation, internships, patents and R&D.
