BPUT Sets New Result-Speed Record

The Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, has set a new benchmark in speedy result publication by releasing examination results for more than 93,000 students within just 48 hours.
BPUT Vice-Chancellor Amiya Kumar Rath said the 2025-26 Even Semester Regular and Back examinations were held at 172 centres across Odisha from April 29 to June 8. Results were announced within two days of the final examination.
A total of 93,362 students from the second, fourth, sixth, eighth and tenth semesters appeared for the exams. Around 5.09 lakh answer scripts were evaluated across 16 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, covering 126 branches and specialisations.

For the evaluation process, 1,541 faculty members worked across 52 centres. Answer scripts were collected from 13 nodal centres on the day of the examinations and transported to BPUT headquarters in Rourkela the next day.
At the university, the scripts were checked, coded, scanned and uploaded to a cloud-based system for digital evaluation. Faculty members then evaluated the scanned copies at e-evaluation centres between 7 am and 9 pm.
The achievement has attracted recognition from the India Book of Records (IBR) and Asia Book of Records (ABR). Representatives of both organisations have reached the BPUT campus for an award ceremony scheduled on Thursday.
BPUT had earlier set a record by declaring results for 67,963 UG and PG students within 48 hours after its Odd Semester examinations. This time, the university has achieved the feat on a significantly larger scale, evaluating nearly 1.58 lakh more answer scripts.
Rath said timely results can help students avoid academic and mental stress caused by prolonged waiting and allow them to plan their higher studies and careers without unnecessary delays.
BPUT currently has 166 constituent and affiliated colleges with around 1.5 lakh students.
