Rath Yatra 2026: Final Prep Review In Puri

Bhubaneswar: With preparations for the world-famous Rath Yatra 2026 entering the final phase, Odisha’s Chief Advisor (Retd. IPS) Prakash Mishra on Monday conducted a comprehensive review of the security, traffic management, and overall administrative arrangements in Puri to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual festival.

The high-level review meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Arvind Padhee, IAS, ADG (Modernization) Soumendra Priyadarshi, IPS, Inspector General of Police (Central Range) Dr. Satyajit Naik, IPS, along with senior officials from the Odisha Police and the district civil administration.

During the meeting, officials assessed the preparedness of various departments, with special emphasis on strengthening coordination among all agencies involved in managing the mega event. Discussions focused on crowd control measures, traffic regulation, law and order, emergency response systems, and deployment strategies to efficiently handle the massive influx of devotees expected during the festival.

The senior officials stressed the importance of flawless inter-departmental coordination and directed all concerned authorities to ensure that every operational plan is implemented effectively. They also called for heightened vigilance and timely execution of all arrangements to provide devotees with a safe, secure, and seamless Rath Yatra experience.

Rath Yatra, one of India’s largest religious gatherings, attracts lakhs of pilgrims from across the country and abroad every year, making meticulous planning and coordinated execution crucial for the successful conduct of the festival.
