Bhubaneswar receives 112.3 mm rain in 24 hours as heavy downpour batters Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar recorded 112.3 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours as a low pressure system over Odisha-West Bengal coast continue to lash rains on the state.
As per reports, Chandbali has recorded 64.6 mm and Puri 55.7 mm rain.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall for the state for next 48 hours and has issue red alert for five districts, including Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh, Subarnapur and Kandhamal.
Orange and Yellow warnings have been issued for many other district of the state.
Water logging reported in several urban area in the state as the heavy downpour continues since Saturday night.
Meanwhile no river crossed the warning level, however reservoir water level are rising and Water Resources Department regulation water discharge from it.
The highest rainfall was recorded in the state at Sohela block in Bargarh with 202 mm.
