1 killed, 3 critical in tragic road accident over Trisulia Bridge

Cuttack: At least one person was killed while two others sustained critical injuries following a tragic road accident over Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Setu (Trisulia Bridge) in Cuttack early this morning.
The tragic accident occurred around 4 AM when a car collided head-on with a hyva truck at the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Setu.
According to reports, four persons including a woman were going in the car towards Bhubaneswar from Angul-Talcher via Cuttack.
However, when the four-wheeler reached the bridge a truck coming from the opposite direction collided head-on.
The accident was so severe that the car diver died while three others were critically injured.
Following the accident, the truck driver fled from the spot.
Some local people and commuters who noticed, informed the Barang police station about the accident as the driver was trapped in the accident.
On receiving the information, the Barang police and a unit of firefighters reached the spot, rescued the trapped driver and shifted the injured persons to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
However, doctor declared the driver dead.
The woman and two other injured persons are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
While the truck driver of the vehicle fled the scene, the police have seized the two vehicles involved in the accident and have started an investigation.
