IMD Issues Rain Alert for Five Odisha Districts, Advises Residents to Stay Vigilant

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a short-term weather alert forecasting rainfall in several parts of Odisha over the next few hours.

As per the nowcast issued at 9:40 am, light to moderate rainfall is likely at isolated locations in Ganjam, Nayagarh, Puri, Cuttack and Dhenkanal districts during the next three hours.

The weather agency has urged residents of the affected districts to remain cautious and monitor local weather updates, as conditions could change rapidly.

The alert has been classified under the yellow warning category, indicating the possibility of weather-related disruptions at a few places.

The forecast comes as the southwest monsoon remains active across Odisha, bringing widespread rainfall to various regions of the state over the past day. Meteorologists continue to monitor the monsoon system and its impact on weather conditions in the coming days.
