Odisha receives Kalbaisakhi alert till June 24

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Kalbaisakhi induced heavy rain across Odisha till June 24.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that some isolated places of the South Odisha along with the other districts will receive light to moderate rain in the next 24 hours.

According to the latest weather forecast by Meteorological Department, the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jajapur and Kendrapara will receive heavy rainfall at isolated places today.

Meanwhile, some other places in Gajapati, Rayagda, Malkangiri, Koraput, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayuirbhanj, Keonjhar, Jajapur and Kendrapara might witness thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with wind speed s of 50-60 kmph.

The regional Meteorological Centre has issued a warning for heavy rain along with lighting and thunderstorm till June 24.

The fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea as there will be rough waves due to strong winds.

Meanwhile, there will be no changes in the temperature for the next seven days.
