New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from the Odisha cadre for appointment to Inspector General (IG) or equivalent posts at the Centre.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, a total of 68 IPS officers from across the country have been empanelled for holding IG-level posts at the Centre.

The officers from the Odisha cadre who have received empanelment are Soorya Thankappan of the 2001 batch, Sarthak Sarangi of the 2007 batch, and Umashankar Dash and Parkash R, both from the 2008 batch.

The notification further stated that the ACC did not approve the empanelment of 55 IPS officers for appointment to the rank of Inspector General or equivalent positions at the Centre.
