Man Arrested in Attempt-to-Murder Case in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: Police on Sunday arrested a man in connection with an attempt-to-murder case reported from Bhapur village under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.

The accused, identified as Sukuta Naik of Bhapur village, was allegedly involved in a violent attack in which a villager sustained serious facial injuries after being assaulted with a stone.

According to police, the incident occurred on April 27, 2026, within the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station. Following the attack, a case was registered based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s family.

During the investigation, police collected technical evidence, recorded statements of witnesses and gathered other relevant clues linked to the case.

Acting on reliable information, police apprehended the accused on Sunday. Officials also recovered the stone allegedly used in the assault.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain all circumstances related to the incident.
