Bhawanipatna AEE in Vigilance Snare

The Odisha Vigilance on Monday launched simultaneous searches at six locations linked to Bhubaneswar Sabar, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Division in Bhawanipatna, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The searches are being carried out on the strength of warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna.
According to Vigilance officials, raids are underway at six properties connected to the engineer across Kalahandi district. The operation is being led by six DSPs, eight Inspectors and supporting staff.
The locations being searched include:

Sources said the farmhouse allegedly linked to the AEE includes plantations of mango, coconut and palm trees spread over a large area.
Vigilance teams are also verifying details related to two under-construction market complexes reportedly owned by Sabar near Moter Chhak in Bhawanipatna town.
Officials are examining documents, financial records, property papers and other assets as part of the ongoing investigation.
The anti-corruption agency stated that the searches are still in progress and a detailed assessment of the assets recovered during the raids will be made after completion of verification.
Further details regarding movable and immovable assets are expected to emerge once the searches conclude.
