Four Accused Held in Brutal Murder Case in Nayagarh, Hunt on for Others

Nayagarh: Police have apprehended two more key accused in connection with the brutal murder of Ajit Sahu under Odagaon police limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district, officials said on Monday.

According to police, the newly arrested accused allegedly attacked the deceased with a sword during the incident. With the latest arrests, the total number of accused in custody has risen to four.

Police said intensive interrogation of the accused is currently underway to ascertain the specific role of each individual involved in the crime and to identify any other persons linked to the case.

Raids are continuing at multiple locations to nab the remaining absconding accused. Investigators are also collecting scientific and digital evidence to strengthen the case and ensure a foolproof investigation.

In a parallel crackdown, authorities have initiated strict action against illegal stone quarry operations and alleged criminal syndicates associated with them in coordination with the Revenue and Mining departments.

Nayagarh Police stated that all efforts are being made to ensure a speedy investigation and exemplary punishment for those involved in the heinous crime.

Police further clarified that the law and order situation in the area remains normal and is being closely monitored.
