Worker Killed as Concrete Mixer Overturns at Bridge Site in Ganjam

Bhubaneswar: A construction worker lost his life after a concrete mixer overturned at a bridge construction site in Tilisingi village under Bhanjanagar police limits in Ganjam district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Madan Singh (40), a native of Latehar district in Jharkhand.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 3 pm while construction work was underway. The concrete mixer machine allegedly lost balance and overturned, trapping workers nearby and partially burying them under soil and debris.
The driver of the vehicle, Prabhanjan Mallick of Bhadrak district, managed to jump out in time and sustained minor injuries. He was given preliminary medical treatment at the site.
On receiving information, fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. After nearly three hours of intensive effort, aided by two JCB machines, the body of Madan Singh was recovered from beneath the debris.
Senior police officials, including SDPO Dr. Deepak Kumar Mishra and Bhanjanagar IIC Subbulakshmi Pujari, visited the site and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
