IMD Issues Nowcast Yellow Warning for Thunderstorms in Several Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a nowcast yellow warning, forecasting light thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light rain in several districts of Odisha over the next few hours.

According to the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, the weather system is likely to impact one or two places in Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Khurda, Cuttack, and Jajpur districts within three hours from 3:15 PM IST.

The IMD has advised residents in the affected areas to remain alert and closely monitor rapidly changing weather conditions. People have been urged to be prepared to move to safer locations during lightning activity to reduce the risk of strikes.

A yellow warning signifies the possibility of potentially disruptive weather and serves as an advisory for citizens to stay aware and take necessary precautions.
