Newlywed Woman Dies in Fire Accident at Paradip Village

Paradip: A newlywed woman lost her life in a tragic fire incident at Pippal village under the jurisdiction of Paradip Lock Police Station on Tuesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Rini Kumari Dalei, who had married Smruti Ranjan Swain of Pippal village around one and a half years ago. She was a native of Kuajang Duadia village.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred when Rini was alone near a small thatched structure adjacent to the main house. At the time, her husband had gone out for work, her ailing father-in-law was resting inside the house, and her mother-in-law had gone to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

For reasons yet to be determined, a fire suddenly broke out in the thatched house and quickly spread to a nearby haystack, engulfing Rini in the flames. She sustained severe burn injuries and died on the spot.

Local residents noticed smoke rising from the house and rushed to the scene. They attempted to extinguish the fire by pouring water and alerted the fire service. Fire personnel reached the spot soon after and brought the blaze under control.

On being informed, Paradip Lock Police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the fire. Further details are awaited.
