Odisha Govt to Fill 151 More Posts Through OCSE 2025

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to fill 151 additional vacancies through the ongoing Odisha Civil Services Examination (OCSE) 2025 following the intervention of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, providing major relief to civil service aspirants.

The decision comes in the wake of widespread dissatisfaction among candidates after the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) issued the OCSE 2025 notification without announcing vacancies in key cadres such as the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) and Odisha Revenue Service (ORS).

Taking serious note of the concerns raised by aspirants, the Chief Minister ordered an immediate review of vacant posts across various departments. He directed that all available and sanctioned vacancies be included in the current recruitment process to ensure transparency and fairness.

Following the review, the state government has formally requested the OPSC to include 151 additional posts under OCSE 2025. These include 14 posts in the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS), 113 in the Odisha Revenue Service (ORS), 16 in the Odisha Transport Service (OTS), and eight in the Odisha Welfare Service (OWS).

Officials said the move is expected to significantly benefit aspirants preparing for the examination by expanding opportunities in premier state services and restoring confidence in the recruitment process.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to employment generation, Chief Minister Majhi stated that nearly 40,000 government posts have been filled across departments in the last 18 months. He also directed all departments to ensure that no sanctioned post remains vacant up to the date of issuance of recruitment notifications and that vacancies are promptly reported to the concerned recruitment commissions.

The inclusion of additional posts is being seen as a proactive step by the state government to address youth concerns and strengthen administrative capacity through timely recruitment.
