Dharmendra Pradhan Appointed BJP In-Charge for Bihar Assembly Elections

Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been appointed as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in-charge for the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar, BJP general secretary (headquarters) Arun Singh announced today. Pradhan, who represents Sambalpur in Odisha in the Lok Sabha, will oversee the party’s poll preparations in the state.

BJP president JP Nadda has also named Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya as co-incharges for the Bihar elections.

In a similar move, Nadda has appointed BJP vice president and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda as the party’s in-charge for the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, with Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol serving as co-incharge for the southern state.

Bihar is currently governed by a coalition led by the BJP and Janata Dal (United) under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, which is striving to retain power against the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led alliance in the upcoming polls.

In Tamil Nadu, the BJP has allied with the AIADMK and other regional parties to challenge the ruling DMK in the Assembly elections.

Notably, Pradhan has been credited with playing a pivotal role in BJP’s electoral victories in states such as Madhya Pradesh and Haryana, highlighting his experience in steering party campaigns during crucial elections.
