Vigilance Awareness Week Begins Nationwide, Focus on Integrity and Transparency

New Delhi: Vigilance Awareness Week commenced across India today and will continue until November 1, with the objective of strengthening ethical practices, promoting transparency in public administration and encouraging collective efforts towards a corruption-free society.
This year’s theme, “सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि – Probity for Prosperity,” highlights the importance of honesty, accountability and integrity in building a transparent and prosperous nation.
The week-long observance will begin with public servants taking an integrity pledge across central ministries, government departments, public sector undertakings, banks and other organisations. The initiative seeks to reinforce ethical conduct among officials and raise awareness about the importance of maintaining high standards of public service.

Vigilance Awareness Week is observed annually around the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, whose legacy is associated with integrity and national unity.
Through various awareness activities, the campaign aims to sensitise citizens and stakeholders to the harmful consequences of corruption and encourage them to uphold honesty, accountability and ethical values in both public and professional life.
