Spiritual Grace Fills Srimandir on Sabitri Amavasya

Puri Srimandir witnessed deep spiritual devotion on Sabitri Amavasya, as married women offered prayers for the long life and well-being of their husbands.
The rituals began early in the morning at the Sabitri Temple, where women performed puja with fruits, conch bangles, and vermillion in a serene atmosphere.
Inside the temple, the Bhitara Chandan Yatra rituals continued with the sacred Jala Krida ceremony. The Chalanti Pratima of the deities participated in the ritual, which is observed on Jyestha Krushna Ekadashi, Jyestha Shukla Ekadashi, Sabitri Amavasya, and Shitala Sashthi. The ceremony took place at the Jala Krida Mandap within the inner enclosure of Srimandir.
After the completion of Diba Alata Lagi, Chandan Lagi, and Dakhini Ghara Bhoga, Lord Madanmohan proceeded to the Ratna Singhasan. He and Goddess Sridevi received the Agyanmala and moved to the Jala Krida Mandap, where Mahajana servitors placed the idols into the water tank and Mudirasta servitors offered prasad.
Sandalwood water was sprinkled, followed by rituals such as Sitala Bhoga, Srianga Pocha, and Mailama. The idols were adorned with Malaphula garlands before returning to their respective sanctums for further rituals.
The day reflected the enduring faith and cultural richness of Puri, where devotion and tradition blend seamlessly.
