Son Kills Father Over Land Dispute in Odisha’s Nuapada District

Kurumunda (Nuapada): A shocking case of patricide has emerged from Kurumunda village in Odisha’s Nuapada district, where a man allegedly murdered his father over a land dispute.

The accused, identified as Tularam Bariha (36), reportedly attacked his father, Pavan Singh Bariha (60), with a wooden plank while under the influence of alcohol. The incident took place on farmland, following what is believed to have been a heated argument over a trivial land-related issue.

Upon receiving information, local police reached the scene and seized the body for post-mortem examination. Tularam was detained at the spot and taken into custody.

Nuapada Superintendent of Police, G.R. Raghavendra, visited the crime scene and initiated a detailed investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that the motive behind the crime was a long-standing dispute over land ownership between the father and son.

Police officials have stated that all angles are being thoroughly examined, and appropriate legal action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.

Further inquiry is underway to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
