Six-Foot Saltwater Crocodile Rescued From Fishing Net In Kendrapara Village

Kendrapara: A six-foot-long saltwater crocodile was rescued by Forest Department officials after it became entangled in a fishing net at Brahmanikholha village in Odisha’s Kendrapara district on Saturday.

The reptile was reportedly caught in a net spread by local villager Bhagabat Swain on his agricultural land near the village. Swain had placed the net to catch fish and noticed the crocodile trapped inside when he arrived at the spot on Saturday morning.

After spotting the reptile, Swain alerted nearby residents and informed the Forest Department. A team of forest officials subsequently reached the location and carried out a rescue operation, safely freeing the crocodile from the fishing net.

The unexpected presence of the saltwater crocodile in agricultural land caused concern among villagers, who were alarmed to find the large reptile in an area used for farming.

Forest officials safely rescued the crocodile, preventing any potential conflict between the reptile and local residents.
