Restrictions on coal and ash trucks, transport banned from 6 AM to 10 PM

Bhubaneswar: Restrictions have been imposed on the transport of coal and ash trucks in 4 districts of Odisha. The districts are Angul, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Sambalpur.
As per reports, from now on, ash and coal transport vehicles will not be allowed to ply from 6 AM to 10 PM. Keeping accidents and pollution in mind, strict measures have been taken, informed Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari.
According to Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, 94% of Odisha’s thermal power generation comes from Angul, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Sambalpur districts. OPGC and JSW generate power.
There are special guidelines for the transport of ash coming out of them. But the entire problem has not been resolved. Due to the movement of big vehicles, many problems were arising.
Keeping this in mind, separate timings have been fixed for ash transport and public movement. Coal and ash carrying vehicles will only be allowed to operate from 10 PM to 6 AM.
Similarly, common people will commute from 6 AM to 10 PM. During this time, two-wheelers, four-wheelers and vehicles carrying essential commodities will be allowed to ply. The Revenue Minister also warned that if any coal and ash carrying vehicle is found plying during this time, action will be taken against the concerned vehicle owner and company.
