Ratna Bhandar Inventory at Shree Jagannath Temple to Be Completed Before Snana Yatra

Bhubaneswar: The inventory of gems and jewellery stored in the Ratna Bhandar of Shree Jagannath Temple is set to be completed ahead of the annual Snana Yatra, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan announced on Wednesday.
According to the minister, the second phase of the inventory process will be conducted over four days, from April 8 to April 11, 2026. This will be followed by the third phase beginning on April 13. Overall, the April schedule is expected to span 10 to 12 days.

He further informed that additional phases of the exercise are planned for May and June, with the objective of completing the entire verification process before the Snana Yatra, also known as Deva Snana Purnima — the ceremonial bathing festival of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.
Highlighting the use of modern methods, Harichandan said technology is being leveraged to speed up the process. The current inventory is being cross-checked with records from the 1978 audit, while each item is being digitally photographed for documentation.
He added that once the inventory is completed, authorities will take a decision regarding long-term preservation and security measures for the temple’s valuables.
