Puri: Eagle found sitting on Aruna Stambha

Puri: An eagle was found sitting on the Aruna Stambha in front of Puri Srimandira’s Singhadwara in Odisha on Thursday morning. In an unusual happening the brown eagle was spotted perching on the Aruna pillar in front of the Singhadwara at Srimandira of Puri in Odisha. Following this unusual incident, many devotees are scared because it is considered a bad omen.

As per reports, the big bird was spotted perching at the top of the Aruna Stambha for a while before it flew. In the meanwhile enthusiastic devotees did not miss to take a snap of the unusual happening.

Although such incidents related to Srimandira are widely considered inauspicious across Odisha, some devotees of Lord Jagannath have opined that it was an indication by the Lord that He is there to protect.

It is to be noted that the daily rituals of Lord Jagannath temple is not affected if an eagle rests on the Aruna Stambha.

It is to be noted that the day before yesterday only an eagle was found perching on the Patitapabana flag fixed atop the Srimandira of Puri.

Earlier in April this year an eagle had been witnessed flying with the Patitapaban bana (flag) of the Jagannath temple. Reportedly, then the video had gone viral.

However, though on some occasions similar happenings have been witnessed, perching of an eagle on the Aruna Stambha is very rare.
