President Murmu, PM Modi to Visit Odisha for Key Events in Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will begin a two-day visit to Odisha on Friday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to join her on Saturday for a series of official engagements in Mayurbhanj district. The visit coincides with the President’s birthday celebrations.

As per the schedule, President Murmu is expected to arrive at Dandbose Airstrip in Mayurbhanj at around 3:45 pm. During the evening, she will inaugurate the newly established AIIMS Satellite Centre at Rairangpur, a project aimed at strengthening healthcare services in the region.

On Saturday, the President and the Prime Minister will travel to Pahadpur, the native village of President Murmu. The two leaders will pay tribute to her late husband, Shyam Charan Murmu, by offering floral respects at his statue.

They will also visit the Skill Development Institute in Pahadpur, where they are scheduled to interact with young beneficiaries who have received training and secured employment through the institute’s programmes.

Later in the day, President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi will attend a public event at Dandabose to mark the completion of two years of the BJP government in Odisha. The programme is slated to begin at 1 pm and will be attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi along with several senior political leaders.

A documentary highlighting the state’s development journey, titled ‘Bikashara Dhara, Odisha Sara’, will be screened during the event.

The President is also expected to inaugurate multiple development projects and lay foundation stones for important railway infrastructure works and a major initiative of Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL). Both President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi are scheduled to address the gathering before concluding their Odisha visit and returning to New Delhi.
