PM Modi’s Odisha Visit: BBSR Traffic Curbs to Remain in Force from 5:40 PM to 6:40 PM

Bhubaneswar: Commuters in Bhubaneswar are likely to face traffic restrictions on Sunday evening as the city prepares for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha. The restrictions will be enforced from 5:40 PM to 6:40 PM to facilitate the Prime Minister’s movement between the airport and the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) new facility at Info Valley-II near Jatni in Khordha district.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the RBI’s state-of-the-art greenfield data centre and a Cyber Security Training Institute during his visit.

Security has been significantly strengthened across the state capital ahead of the high-profile programme. According to reports, 56 platoons of police personnel will be deployed, supported by 10 senior officers. Additionally, 223 sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors will be assigned security duties. A four-tier security arrangement has been planned for the Prime Minister.

Police have also carried out a trial run of the convoy involving 28 vehicles. Security personnel are keeping a close watch on the route connecting Jatni and Bhubaneswar, while checks are being conducted at the helipad ground.

Meanwhile, the city has been adorned with banners, posters and BJP flags as preparations gather pace for the visit. Arrangements are being coordinated along the route from the airport to Info Valley-II.

Authorities have urged motorists to plan their journeys in advance and take alternative routes wherever possible to avoid delays during the restricted period. Commuters travelling through the affected areas are advised to follow traffic police instructions and cooperate with security personnel.
