Odisha Textbooks Hit by 1,741 Errors, Action Against 10 Officials

The Odisha government has found 1,741 errors in newly published textbooks for students of Classes I to VIII, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond told the state Assembly.
The minister shared the details while replying to a question from MLA Goutam Buddha Das.

Following the lapses, action has been initiated against 10 officials. The former director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and three former deputy directors have been suspended. Departmental proceedings have also been started against six other deputy directors.

The government has supplied corrigendum sheets and corrected books to teachers so that the identified mistakes can be addressed. According to the minister, the process of preparing and distributing revised textbooks is also underway.
