Odisha Looks to Strengthen Partnership with Singapore Across Key Growth Sectors

Bhubaneswar: Odisha and Singapore are set to deepen their partnership in several strategic areas following a meeting between Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Singapore’s High Commissioner to India, Simon Wong.

The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in sectors such as sustainable urban development, renewable energy, maritime infrastructure, technological innovation, and workforce skill enhancement.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister outlined Odisha’s development priorities and highlighted the state’s commitment to achieving the goals of Samruddha Odisha 2036 while contributing to the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He noted that Singapore’s expertise and experience could play a significant role in Odisha’s growth journey.

A key point of discussion was the timely execution of agreements signed during the visit of Singapore President Dr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam to the state. Both sides expressed interest in accelerating the implementation of these initiatives to deliver tangible outcomes.

The meeting also resulted in a consensus on creating a formal mechanism for regular engagement, aimed at attracting investments, encouraging knowledge-sharing, and fostering stronger institutional ties between Odisha and Singapore.

Officials believe the strengthened collaboration could open new opportunities for economic growth and development in the years ahead.
