No media allowed in Pahadpur during President Murmu and PM Modi’s Visit

Bhubaneswar: The Mayurbhanj district administration has barred media personnel from entering Pahadpur village on June 20, citing stringent security arrangements ahead of the visit of President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In an official communication, the District Information and Public Relations Officer (DI&PRO) has instructed all print and electronic media personnel to refrain from visiting or entering Pahadpur village on the day of the VVIP visit. The decision was taken on the recommendation of the District Intelligence Bureau and the Superintendent of Police (Mayurbhanj) to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the programme.
“This is to inform you that Her Excellency Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India and the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India are scheduled to visit Mayurbhanj district on 19.06.2026 and 20.06.2026, respectively. During the visit, they are likely to visit Pahadpur on 20.06.2026,” read the letter.
“In view of the security arrangements put in place for the aforesaid VVIP visit and as per the communication received from the Superintendent of Police, Mayurbhanj, media personnel shall not be permitted to proceed or enter Pahadpur on 20.06.2026 for coverage of the visit,” it stated.
President Murmu is scheduled to visit Mayurbhanj on June 19, while Prime Minister Modi is expected to arrive on June 20.
Both the VVIPs will visit Pahadpur, located about 20 km from Rairangpur in Kusumi block of Mayurbhanj district. Pahadpur is the native village of President Droupadi Murmu’s late husband, Shyam Charan Murmu.
