Motorcyclist Killed After Speeding Truck Hits From Behind on NH-53 in Bargarh

Bhubaneswar: A 35-year-old motorcyclist lost his life after being hit from behind by a speeding iron-laden truck on National Highway 53 near Atabira in Odisha’s Bargarh district.

The deceased has been identified as Kulamani Suna (35), a resident of Belmundapada near Godbhaga under the Atabira area.

According to reports, the accident occurred late on Tuesday night when Suna was riding his motorcycle towards Bargarh. Near Atabira Cinema Hall, a speeding truck rammed into his bike from behind with tremendous force. The impact threw him off the vehicle, leaving him critically injured.

He was immediately rushed to the Atabira Community Health Centre in a serious condition. As his health worsened, he was shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla for advanced treatment. However, doctors there declared him dead on arrival.

Police from Atabira have registered a case and seized the truck involved in the accident. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause, including the speed and condition of the vehicle.
