Massive fire wipes out scrap godown in Brahmagiri

Puri: A massive fire broke out at a scrap godown near the Mangalaghat Bridge in Brahmagiri of Odisha’s Puri district on Tuesday and turned the whole facility into ash.

As per reports, the locals reported it to the Fire Services after seeing the heavy smoke emanating from the scrap godown.

On receiving information, fire fighters arrived at the location and the blaze was doused in an hour-long operation after.

Luckily, all the cattle stabled in the neighbouring cow-shed were saved.

The reason behind the fire has not been discovered yet.

The scrap godown is said to belong to Prabhat Kumar Panda, the owner.

Panda suspects that the scrap godown along with the cowshed have been torched by some unknown anti-social elements.
