Low pressure over BoB to intensify into depression in 12 hours

Bhubaneswar: The well marked low pressure will transform into a depression in the next 12 hours informed the MeT department. The depression will develop in the west-central Bay of Bengal under the influence of a cyclonic circulation. This will induce rain in the state of Odisha.

It will move northwestwards and intensify further tomorrow morning. The low pressure system will intensify further over the northwest Bay of Bengal area adjacent to the west-central region and turn into a depression. It is likely to cross south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts on the October 3 morning.

An orange alert has been issued for Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Kandhamal districts as there is a possibility of rainfall ranging from 7 to 20 centimeters tomorrow.

Similarly, the Regional Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore districts. Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh and Cuttack districts have also been issued yellow warning.
