Low pressure expected to form in Odisha during Bahuda Yatra

Bhubaneswar: Odisha may witness yet another spell of heavy rainfall during the Bahuda Yatra as a fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to form around July 24, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Tuesday.

It is not clear yet whether this system would evolve into a low pressure area, but the state is all set to see continued weather activity.

Monsoon rains are already lashing Odisha and under the impact of the current weather system, several districts will continue to receive heavy rain for the next three days.

Heavy rainfall is expected to occur at one or two places in Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj districts.

On July 22 and July 23, Sundaragada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Baleshwar and Bhadrak districts are also expected to be hammered with heavy rain.

The IMD has issued Yellow Alert to many districts up to July 24 and asked people to be vigilant as the rain activity will continue in the entire state.
